This product is accepted as a direct food additive, approved by the FDA in the United States. TEC is used as a plasticizer for cellulose and natural resins derivatives. Concerning personal care, it is also used as an aroma fixing agent in perfumes, and as plasticizer in hairsprays and nail polish, and as an active component in deodorants.
